Gen Z will face a unique set of challenges with respect to our core American values. Who would have thought that in 2020 the idea of free speech would be controversial? Our country is deeply divided, pandemics are causing more harm, and America’s enemies are more emboldened than ever. I fear that the Washington elite in both political parties have betrayed America. I believe the best way to fix this is through re-discovering our core principles and ideals—freedom, due process, tolerance for diverse opinions, and harnessing the incredible engine of capitalist markets. It will be up to our generation to preserve freedom and continue the endless work of perfecting the Union.
