Nothing Ever Happens

I am sure that all great Instagram reels enjoyers, such as myself, will be familiar with the “nothing ever happens” meme. I am not sure the best way to describe this meme as most memes have a much deeper meaning and significance than appears at first glance. For those that wish to truly understand this meme I would recommend looking it up before continuing any further with your reading of this article. Nonetheless, the meme itself represents a kind of lonely guy who is bored with the modern world in which nothing ever happens. No matter who is elected nothing changes, and there is no meaningful way to change the world in a way that falls outside our neoliberal modern, universalist world that has been built. Whenever an event occurs that has the potential to break people free from the almost ground hog day cycle we are in it can never be broken free of because “nothing ever happens.” When the Strait of Hormuz was closed nothing fundamentally changed, when Trump was elected again nothing fundamentally changed. Thus, whenever an event occurs that has the potential to shake up the current world order, black pilled nihilists, will comment under social media posts, “nothing ever happens.” Many may argue: the technological progress of the modern world is so great that why would you want something bad to happen to it? I will proudly and strongly say I want the modern world to crumble. I despise everything about what society today emphasizes as the most important attributes and talents. With the merchant, the entertainer, politicians, and bureaucrats labeled as some of the most important professions we have lost the ability to value the importance of the artists, the poets, the musicians, and architects. It is no wonder that the world looks so dull and lacking any spark. So yes, I want something to happen that can shake the world from the materialistic spell it has fallen under. A world in which one wakes up, eats goyslop, goes to work, watches pornhub and love Island and goes to bed, repeating this cycle for the next forty years is not a world that deserves to continue. The most tragic thing we have as a society is the ability for young men to gain renown outside of making money. The act of obtaining money is never fully satisfying and always leaves one lonely and empty. Men need the chance to complete acts of heroism and transcendence and sacrifice for something bigger and more lasting than themselves and their current economic needs. Please, I don’t want to see the nothing ever happens meme for the rest of my life, what a dull existence that would be. Let's send him to the ash heap of history. 

I once had a professor in a class on international politics who made a statement that has stuck with me even to this day. He was a very serious professor and did his work with extreme care and patience. Though I never really agreed with his politics, which tended to bleed through in his lectures, I always respected the professionalism with which he would teach and grade our homework and papers. This quote that had such a profound impact on me at the time was one in which he was giving a lecture on neo liberalism and the institutions that have been built up around neoliberalism that are the ground work for the modern world. These institutions included the IMF, the World Bank, The UN, and different central banks all around the world. My professor turned to the class and said “The goal of neoliberalism is to protect the economy from democracy.” This was a time before I had read Julius Evola and was still a wilfully blind believer in populism and the power of democracy. Not surprising then, this statement had a profound effect on me. 

The more I have thought about my teacher's statement the more I have realized that this is at the root of part of the problem with the world we live in today. Neo liberalism has placed the economy above everything else. It is not that the economy is a tool to be used and managed so as to improve the wealth, living standards, and happiness of the people who work in it. The economy has taken the role of a God, in which people are at the mercy of the economy and forced to sacrifice their entire lives to grow the economy. Does anybody really believe that the miracle and mystery of your life and the goal you should strive for is to grow the economy?Yes! Say the neoliberals,  forget love, art, science, architecture, music, friends, spirituality, passion, and energy. The purpose of life is to grow GDP. This is so unserious and we wonder why men are dropping out of society and not working and nihilism is beginning to stir in the hearts of men like no time before. The free market is nothing to be a slave to. If markets are not benefiting the people who live, work, and consume in them they should be altered so as to achieve those goals. If it is not clear I despise the die hard free market capitalists more than even communists.

Returning to the opening paragraph, Neo liberalism is a way in which the wealthy have constructed a world in which “nothing ever happens.” Those with power and wealth enjoy the status quo and would like things to stay exactly the way they are. For all those black pilled nihilists out there, if we don't want the “nothing ever happens” meme to haunt our dreams for the rest of our lives, these institutions that ensure the status quo are going to have to be done away with. We have to find a way to break away from this cycle. Chaos if it further leads to the collapse of the current system is beneficial to our movement. There are two important goals we need to achieve if we want a truly right wing movement to take hold. We want a traditional movement that can overturn the barbarism of the French Revolution and the liberalism that has taken hold in western nations and now all nations since the 18th century.

These two goals are as follows: first we have to become cooler and more radical than the left. I am not exactly sure how to put this first goal into writing. I believe that a fundamental flaw in the leftist, progressive, empowerment, etc. movement is that they all have a very tragic view of life. Generally, they view people as bad that need to be educated on their way of thinking, or indoctrinated, and always seem to be willing to cause suffering in the present for some future utopia. I think we should completely reject this out of hand. The right needs to become rebels, warriors, artists, poets, and musicians. By reclaiming these fields you can present a positive outlook on life. We can tell young people traditions matter, honor matters, respecting the past matters. There is no future utopia because right now, the present, is all that we have.   

The second and more easily achievable and definable goal, but one that many right wingers might not want to hear is that, capital is not your friend! Capital and the role it plays in politics will have to be squashed like a bug. Nothing will improve until the State subjugates capital, the banks, and the investor class to a second rate power that only serves to further the well being of the state and the individual lives of the people occupying the country. A strong state can be a more powerful ally to the right than laissez faire free markets ever could be. Two examples of where a strong state, that subjected and put the power of capital in its place, could have benefited the right wing is immigration and trade. The biggest proponents of both unfettered mass immigration that has demographically destroyed the country and free trade that has destroyed industry have been big business, capital, and the investor class. They view the world as someone managing capital should, profits. However, this is not to the benefit of those on the right. It was not a strong and powerful state that allowed mass immigration, it was a weak state bought off by large amounts of money that did the bidding of capital by allowing workers to pour into the country to improve financial returns. It was when the state took a step back and became laissez faire in trade that wrecked countless manufacturing towns across the country. It was not a strong state that allowed these calamities to occur but a weak state and a political system dominated by capital which uses “conservative” “free market” think tanks as its propaganda outlet. It may be hard for those on the right to hear this but to save the country we must squish the power of capital like a bug and return power to the state where the interests of the people, not investors, reside. 

Let me make one more short point about why so many people might be feeling lost and without meaning. It is the capital that has done this. The market and money has been placed on such a high place in our society that people have been reduced simply to a bank account and a number. One’s value no longer depends on how beautiful their art is or writing or music or architecture but simply by the amount of zeros in a bank account. Community and beautiful safe cities have been replaced by GDP numbers and graphs. If we want to bring back meaning into our lives the value we place on money must come second to the value we place on community. We have to move beyond right and left Republican and Democrat. Maybe a new party or an anti party that says we will no longer be governed by corrupt politicians, dark money, lobbyists, and judges who larp as high priests in some Aztec- like society. We must return to being governed by heroes and great men who value deeds over wealth.          

Thank you for reading my short article, some might call it a rant, however I felt the need to get these thoughts out into the world. I truly hope that one day something will happen and the world can reorganize around something more meaningful than 9-5 jobs, 401ks, fast food, cruises which I detest, and all the materialistic things that this modern world tells us to enjoy but seem so fleeting and meaningless.
